Lake Chelan Community Hospital Makes Difficult Decision to Keep the Sanctuary Unit Closed Until Further Notice

On March 31st of 2019, with guidance, LCCHC made the decision to temporarily close the inpatient 28-day Sanctuary services unit for the safety of all staff and patients throughout the hospital due to the impact of Covid-19.  As we have seen other hospital services begin to slowly reopen, we cannot safely reopen the Sanctuary unit for treatment services.

Due to the current level of work available and the inability to reopen Sanctuary services for an unknown period, we have elected to place Sanctuary staff on furlough status beginning today, June 12, 2020.  Please be assured that this decision in no way reflects performances of our staff.

The length of this furlough is unknown at this time.  We are hopeful that we will be able to reopen the Sanctuary unit and lift the furlough status.

We appreciate all the contributions that the Sanctuary staff have provided to LCCHC these last few months and wish them all the best during this unprecedented time.  We look forward to having you all back following this furlough period.
