Lake Chelan Health EMS Station Building Project

Lake Chelan Health EMS (Emergency Medical Services) has been proudly serving the residents and visitors of the Lake Chelan Valley for 50 years. Since its establishment in 1975, EMS has operated 24 hours a day from at least six different temporary locations. Following the sale of the former hospital building at 503 E. Highland Avenue in Chelan, EMS has been leasing space from the new property owners. The team currently works out of a double-stacked modular building that once housed the hospital’s business office, accounts payable, payroll, and human resources departments, along with a leased three-bay garage that accommodates three ambulances. See current EMS location.
In September 2025, after three years of collaboration with State Representative Mike Steele, Lake Chelan Health secured $12 million in state funding over two legislative sessions to construct a new and much needed EMS station and garage. Groundbreaking for the project took place on the new hospital campus at 110 S. Apple Blossom Drive in Chelan — marking the beginning of a permanent home for this vital community service.
