Guild Y
Founded on May 24, 1965, Guild Y has been a dedicated part of the Lake Chelan community for over 59 years, supporting local healthcare through service, friendship, and fundraising.
Two of the original members, Arlene Jackson and Mary Ann Talley, remain active today. In total, seven members have served with Guild Y for more than 50 years—a testament to the strong bonds and lasting commitment within the group.
Guild Y has always been a close-knit organization. Over the decades, members have shared life’s milestones together—from raising families and celebrating graduations to weddings, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. To preserve that close connection, membership has remained at 25, allowing meetings to be held in members’ homes.
Through the years, Guild Y has organized a wide variety of successful fundraisers, including ski swaps, holiday dances, talent shows, style shows, card party luncheons, Halloween dinners, quilt raffles, the No Sweat Tennis Tournament, and numerous yard sales. More recently, the group has hosted brick sales for the hospital café patio and seasonal fundraisers such as See’s Candies, Butter Braid pastries, Mother’s Day flowers, and handcrafted Christmas wreaths.
The generosity and hard work of Guild Y have made a lasting impact on Lake Chelan Health. Over the years, the guild has helped fund important hospital equipment and improvements, including hospital beds, an extra-large wheelchair, a respirator and pulse oximeter, a tissue freezer, tele-neurology equipment, surgical suite equipment, and the refurbishment of a patient room (in the old hospital).
Most recently, Guild Y purchased the outdoor tables and umbrellas for the Lake Chelan Health Orchard Café and completed their brick sales project for the hospital patio.
For nearly six decades, Guild Y has embodied the spirit of community support—helping Lake Chelan Health continue its mission of caring for the Lake Chelan Valley.
