SAFE SITTER CLASS
Lake Chelan EMS is offering two Safe Sitter classes. Each class is taught over two days. This class is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 (11yrs-14yrs old) to be safe when they’re home alone, watching young siblings, or babysitting. This instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use manikins to practice rescue skills like chocking rescue and CPR!
2-Day Course: Friday September 11, 2026 – 4pm-7pm and Saturday September 12, 2026 – 9am-3:00pm
Location: 232 E. Wapato Ave., Chelan, WA – Chelan Fire & Rescue Station
Cost: $65 (Covers cost of materials, lunch and snacks)
Curriculum for young babysitters provides hands-on practice in lifesaving technique and instruction, including:
- How a child’s age affects how to care for them
- How to prevent problem behavior
- How to run your own baby sitting business
- Basic first aid, infant and child choking rescue and CPRSafeSitter® is a medically-accurate, up-to-date baby sitting course that teaches young teens (11-14 years) life and safety skills. This is a great opportunity to start and grow a babysitting business.
