THE BRAGG SCHOLARSHIP & CONTINUING EDUCATION FUND
A single gift that has positively changed countless lives in the Lake Chelan Valley.
In 1995, Edna Bragg endowed more than a million dollars to the Lake Chelan Health and Wellness Foundation to be used in perpetuity for healthcare education. More than $1 million to date has been distributed from the Harold & Edna Bragg Healthcare Fund from the interest earned on this asset. Scholarships are provided each year for college students and professional healthcare providers residing or working within the hospital district. Scholarships vary in amount, depending on criteria such as full or part-time status, and the number of years a student has studied in a health care major field. In addition, healthcare professionals may apply for continuing education available throughout the year. A scholarship committee made up of members of the Foundation Board of Directors considers applicants.
“We are grateful to Edna Bragg for allowing us the opportunity to support healthcare education in such an impactful way,” said Linda Parker, LCHW Foundation Board Member. “She left a generous legacy gift that will allow us to assist in educating healthcare professionals for generations to come.”

Graduating Senior Scholarships
We’re helping secure the health of our community by providing scholarships to graduating students pursuing a college degree in healthcare. If that’s you, you may be eligible! Scholarships vary in amount, depending on criteria such as full or part-time status and the number of years a student has studied in a healthcare field. Scholarship assistance can be requested year over year. A scholarship committee made up of members of the Foundation Board of Directors considers applicants.
Continuing Education
You never stop learning – and your passion for continuing your education is impressive! We like to reward that passion with continuing healthcare education scholarships. All Lake Chelan Health employees and Lake Chelan Valley healthcare professionals are eligible to apply, and meet the criteria. If you have a dream to further your education in healthcare, we’d love to hear from you.
Request for Special Funding
Special Funding is a request for funding not available anywhere else but will help to bring an item or program to a group or individual. We have been privileged in the past to help with funding for the Audiometer for Manson School District, Gift Certificates for kids in the EMS program – “I Caught You” which catches kids wearing their bike helmets while out riding their bikes, Senior Center Yoga classes and our Community Nurse program.
